About the role
As a product engineer, and first RN developer, at Shef you will be responsible for creating our first mobile apps as well as building delightful experiences for consumers and chefs across the country. Your background with React Native will make you the core leader in setting design patterns and creating the framework for other engineers for mobile development. If we succeed, you will have fundamentally changed how people purchase food and the variety of healthy, affordable, and authentic food that they have access to.
This role reports directly to the CTO.
Your responsibilities
- Building out the initial RN apps for our consumer and supply side.
- Establishing best practices, design patterns, and frameworks for the apps and presenting that to other engineers.
- Mentoring other engineers in React Native
- Identifying ways of reducing engineering effort across platforms (including web) via library consolidation and deployment tooling.
- Thinking like a Product Manager - Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements for new features
- Building new features that delight our consumers and help our Shefs grow their own businesses.
Requirements:
- 3+ years using React Native
- 1+ years experience with TypeScript
- Self-starter who is smart, driven, and hardworking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred skills: GraphQL, Apollo, Node
- Excited about Shef's mission of unlocking the home-cooked food industry
- Bonus for past experience working on food & restaurant products or online marketplaces
