About the role

Who We Are:

Here at Odeko, we believe that humans achieve more when they control their own destiny. That’s why we’re creating best-in-class solutions that empower small businesses to realize their big dreams -- starting with our mobile ordering app and supply chain management service. With Odeko, coffee shops and cafés can increase their revenue, lower their expenses, and reduce their environmental footprint effortlessly.

We’re a passionate team of dreamers and builders, determined to liberate small businesses from the not-so-fun aspects of the job so that they can focus on what’s fun and important.

At Odeko, we want to ship software that makes life better for our customers, so we rely on our team, culture, and tools to make sure that happens! We greatly value individual ownership and accountability, within the framework of a team. We truly care about our customers and their success, and we want you to care, too. And we pick the best tools for every job.

What you'll do:

  • Set up, build, and support tools to automate and streamline the SDLC
  • Improve, manage, and maintain Odeko's AWS/Kubernetes based systems infrastructure
  • Strive to increase the observability and monitoring of all aspects of Odeko's environment
  • Serve as a technical resource to the rest of Odeko on cloud infrastructure, security, and DevOps principles

Our tech stack comprises Ruby/Rails, Haskell/Servant, Typescript/JavaScript/Vue.js, iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), on top of Kubernetes, Docker and AWS.

Experience:

  • Managing and troubleshooting high demand, mission critical production environments.
  • Setting up and managing the whole stack, from DNS, load balancers, and firewalls, to databases.
  • A strong background with AWS environments and managing all aspects of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Coding to automate as much as possible with an eye towards resilience and repeatability. We expect you to be comfortable with Shell programs as well as a programming language for more complex tasks or to build new tools. Ideally you'd also have some experience with configuration management tools.
  • Expertise managing monitoring and analytical tools such as ELK, CloudWatch, Sensu, etc.
  • You’re motivated to improve the product and codebase beyond what’s expected.
  • If you don’t know something, you find the answer.

We are open to remote candidates, but only within the United States and Belfast, NI.

Odeko is committed to building an inclusive, diverse team. We offer competitive benefits and the opportunity to truly grow. If this sounds good to you, we’d love to hear from you!

No third-parties please.
