WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering and Manufacturing Infrastructure team. You will be one of the first Mechanical Engineers at Mighty Buildings’ US office so this is the perfect opportunity for someone who is hungry and wants to get in on the ground floor of a company that is revolutionizing 3D prefabrication for state of the art homes. The Mechanical Engineer will be successful by driving the design and integration of manufacturing and assembly while also handling jigs, fixtures, and related systems. The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Director of Automated Manufacturing and will be part of Mighty Buildings US team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Developing mechanical structures of production cells, parts and manufacturing jigs in Solidworks. Make a digital mock-up assembly of the developed parts to identify collisions and mistakes. Prototyping of the developed structures and parts. Developing shop drawings for the the parts to be manufactured. Look for and engage with metal, wood, CNC, 3D printing shops to place an order and manufacture parts. Assemble the developed parts in order to validate the designs or improve them.
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Mechanical engineering, mechanisms and accompanying systems is something you’re both excited and enthusiastic about (and ready to show it during the interview process!). You’re a wizard with CAD including Solidworks, Fusion360, Inventor, etc.. Extensive knowledge about materials such as metals, plastics, etc.. Working knowledge and experience with manufacturing technologies such as machining, sheet-metal bending, welding, 3D printing, injection moulding. Mechanical calculations and analysis (FEA, loads, stresses, static, dynamic, Tolerance analysis). Creative, hands-on, with a strong desire to not only design but build the systems you design. Capable of analyzing, debugging and solving complex problems. Experience and familiarity with working in LEAN manufacturing environment. Be familiar with Industry 4.0 concept. Be aware abou modularity in hardware development an agile frameworks. Well organized, pay attention to details, methodical in your approach to design and engineering. Being a collaborative team player comes natural for you. Strong verbal and written communication skills Fluent in English
