We're making Africa the first cashless continent.
In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. In 2019, we expanded to Cote d'Ivoire. Now, we have millions of users and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent. And that's where you come in....
In 2021 alone Wave’s recruiting team of about 20 people hired over 1,000 employees to ensure our success as a company. With an increasingly competitive global talent market, we have formed Wave’s first-ever Talent Operations team to help shape our overall talent acquisition strategy. The Talent Operations team identifies, evaluates, and implements processes, systems, and tools to improve recruiting efficiency. We are looking for a training specialist to ensure all Wave recruiters have the best possible training to perform at a globally competitive level. Ideally, you are an experienced, resourceful and analytical talent acquisition professional with a strong desire to help others succeed and a commitment to thinking from first principles. You could also be a learning and development specialist with a desire to build a world-class training program for a specialized audience of recruiters and with a focus on knowledge of the most innovative recruiting tools and relevant skills to optimize our hiring practices. Reporting to the Talent Lead, you will design and lead recruiter training to improve operational efficiency, train on new recruitment processes and trends, and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.
