About the role

We are revolutionizing technical hiring by giving companies a skills-based hiring platform that enables our customers to assess technical skills effectively. We are growing fast and looking to add to our Finance team. This position is Full-Time and Remote within the United States.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Improve existing processes and add structure, cadence and automation
  • Inspire and manage a strong accounting team and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Design and enforce policies that balances Flexibility to support our growth and Structured for control and appropriateness
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including AP, Billing and AR
  • Manage and review the monthly close including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, company consolidation, equity, and other balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Manage annual audit processes and coordinate with auditors on entity level audit
  • Drive all entities' compliance and filings, including tax filings, local filings for various states and all foreign entities' filings
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success and other teams on vendor negotiations, deal structures, revenue recognition, and commissions
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for financial and SaaS metrics

What are the skills required to do a great job in this role?

Must-Haves

  • GAAP: the candidate should have US GAAP experience and be well versed in Accounting standards relating  to revenue recognition, stock based compensation and foreign currency. Have led or been part of an  IPO project or a Senior (Management) level Accounting role at a Public Company 
  • Standardize and improve our accounting processes, define policies to standardize and implement systems for efficiency
  • Business acumen: Strong understanding of SaaS and financial metrics. Understand cost and growth drivers. Deal structures for both vendor and customer deals and experienced in vendor negotiations
  • Team Management : People are at the heart of everything we do. Need a people manager who knows how to hire, train, motivate, manage and get the best out of people
  • Communication skills: Ability to convey thoughts in your head into a written format and/or verbally. This is needed to ensure cross-org communication is high. Be comfortable communicating with (non financial) leaders of other teams and be a thoughtful business partner
  • Data-driven: Framework to take decisions on which way to proceed. Examples at prior companies where the candidate has demonstrated a clear ability to make decisions based on data even though it was unintuitive
  • Detail orientation:  To err is human. Someone who understands that errors are possible so always pays attention to details and builds checks and balances in their work to catch errors programmatically  
  • Experience in SaaS

Nice to have:

  • Deep system implementation and operational knowledge of Netsuite or other mid-market ERP systems
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (specifically ADP), policies and compliance related to payroll
  • Salesforce experience
  • Expensify and other cloud based PTP systems
