“I am deeply committed to this cause not only because my mother, thankfully, is a survivor but because breast cancer, unlike many other diseases, has a viable chance for a cure in our lifetimes and can be successfully treated if caught early. It is also a disease which disproportionately harms the underserved in our communities.

My roles at JPMorgan Chase and with Komen Greater New York City have given me a much deeper understanding of the disease, as well an enormous appreciation and respect for the survivors, for those who have cared for – and lost – loved ones to the disease, and for the activists and staff who work tirelessly to raise the level of understanding about breast cancer within our local communities. Breast cancer kills many because they lack access to preventive care and treatment. Providing help for today and hope for tomorrow is what Komen does best.”
